Less known movies to watch with the children

Following my last month blog on less known books to read with the children (here), some parents asked me to share less known movies to watch as a family. Here are my favourites:

1) Paper Planes is a story of a boy who lives in Australia and who discovers he has a talent to make paper planes, Would he manage to compete in the World Paper Plane Championships in Japan?

2) Queen of Katwe is a touching story of a talented Ugandan girl living in a slum in Katwe who makes it to compete in a chess competition at the International level (based on a true story).

3) Akeelah and the Bee is a story of an 11-year-old girl who fights the odd to participates in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

4) The Choir is a story of a 11-yrs old orphan who joins a boys choir in Texas. It a very moving story with a beautiful music (parents may also enjoy a French movie with similar theme The Chorus, but it is not suitable for young children).

Let me know what you think of the movies and if you have any other movies to share with me to watch as a family.
