You're thinking about going back to work to support the family and taking your baby to nursery, but somehow you're unsure because you don't know too much about nurseries.
First of all, you have to know that there are day care nurseries and nursery schools. A day care nursery provides care for children aged from just a few weeks old to those preparing for primary school. A nursery runs 5 days per week, which is great because it covers all the time you're at work. They offer full time or half a day care, so you can choose whichever way is best for you!
As for the nursery schools, they provide care and early education to children aged from three to five years old.
So, when you feel like your child is ready, start exploring your neighborhood and see what nurseries you have around the house. Or, if you want, you can search for a nursery that is close to your work. Either way, make sure you get to know the nursery, ask some other moms' opinions and scan the online forums.
The best way to know if a nursery is good for your child is to pay them a visit. Keep your eyes wide open for things like: the building, tidiness, staff behavior, toilets and napping area.
Let's do it together! We've planned a great talk about nurseries for you and other mums just like you!
Come at our NW8 Mums talk on day care nurseries and nursery schools, this Thursday, February 25th, from 9:30 to 10:30. Please register here (£5 for advanced booking, £10 if paid on the day). Take your list of questions and ask Karin, Founder of NW8 all you want to know!
